FISHER SWEENEY
PROJECT ENGINEER
I was lucky to have spent three great summers interning with Verdex in Tampa. Throughout all of my internships, each summer I was able to work on a project that was in a different period of the construction life cycle. Seeing projects that had just started underground utilities, to full production framing, to close out documentation, I’m glad I was able to obtain such a vast industry knowledge across all parts of a construction project.
Beyond the industry knowledge, what kept me coming back to Verdex was the mentorship and leadership I experienced on the various project teams I was apart of. The teams took the time to explain the things they were doing, and why they were doing them - something incredibly important as an entry level individual. Additionally, they challenged me to perform various tasks (submittals, issue PO’s, field verifications, etc.) that gave me first hand experience in the daily to-do’s on a project team.
Now as a full-time Project Engineer, I experience the same level of mentorship and leadership that drew me to come back to Verdex each summer as an intern.
